ANTCZAK Lasse, CTS Bitumen (D)

From 2010 to 2013 he was a member of the german national rowing team. In 2017 he finished his study of civil engineering in Würzburg. From year 2017 to 2021 he was an area manager at Bayerische Asphaltmischwerke (manager of 3 asphalt mixing plants). From 2021 he is a sales manager CTS Bitumen GmbH.

dr. GÓMEZ – MEIJIDE Breixo, EAPA (B)

Breixo Gómez-Meijide graduated in Civil Engineering at the University of A Coruña (Spain). After carrying out pre-doctoral stays in different countries, such as Singapore, Italy and UK, he obtained a PhD in 2015 at the University of A Coruña and received the Doctorate Extraordinary Award for his thesis on sustainable asphalt materials. Then, he moved to the UK, where he worked as a Research Fellow at the Nottingham Transportation Engineering Centre (University of Nottingham). There, he was involved in national and European projects (e.g. HEALROAD on self-healing pavements) and supervised four PhD Students on different topics related to sustainable and resilient roads. Breixo joined EAPA in October 2018 as Technical Director and is the focal point of EAPA for technical issues. He is the secretary of the EAPA Technical Committee and is also involved in Health, Safety and Environment items. He is also in charge of representing the asphalt industry in the CEN Committees related to asphalt and actively contributing in European standardisation processes.

mag. HENIGMAN Slovenko, ZAS & Sloman (SLO)

In 1998 – 2014 he was head of the technology team and director of highway construction, where he was head of the ASPHALT Commission at DARS for 20 years. He is a longtime president of the Slovenian Asphalt Pavement Association and director of the National Association of consulting Engineers od Slovenia at the GZS – Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia. He is the initiator of the implementation of the Golden Investment Rule, the Academy of Construction Investments and the operation of the Strategic Council for Investment and Construction at the GZS. At home and internationally, he published numerous contributions in the field of asphalt and transport infrastructure. Since 2023 he is Vice president of EAPA.

IPAVEC Aleksander, DRI (SLO)

Aleksander Ipavec, B.Sc. (Civil Engineering), was employed in the asphalt laboratory in the construction company Primorje Ajdovščina from 1993 to 2003 and in the laboratory for asphalt and bitumen-based products at ZAG Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute from 2003 to 2020. Since 2020 he has been employed at DRI Investment Management, Company for the Development of Infrastructure, in the Expert Technical Activities Division, Pavement Structure Department.

In his first two jobs, he was involved in internal and external quality control in the implementation of asphalt works (asphalt production and laying), research in the field of asphalt and bitumen (including introduction of rheological tests of bitumen and laboratory aging procedures of bitumen). He was responsible for the quality system in the laboratory and was the auditor for certification of Factory Production Control (FPC) according to EN 13108 standards.

In his current job, he is involved in the management and supervision of the implementation of quality control, he carries out reviews of dimensioning projects for road structures, reviews of technological elaborations of work implementation, and advises in the procedures for the elimination of errors made during the works execution and in the preparation of rehabilitation proposals.

He is a member of the ZAS Technical Committee and of the SIST Technical Committee Management and Quality Assurance. He is a co-author of the Asfalt3 book.

He also participated in several European projects and in the role of supervisor of asphalt works in two multi-year projects in Serbia (construction of highways and rehabilitation of main roads).

JANJIĆ Veljko, Bexel Consulting (SLO)

Veljko Janjić is co-founder and director of Bexel Consulting d.o.o. and one of the leading experts in the field of BIM technologies. He is a member of the standards committee of the international building SMART association and the BIM working group of the European Association of Consulting Engineers FIDIC EFCA, the Technical Advisory Committee and the Industry Advisory Board of the Stanford University CIFE Research Center. He is a member of the board of directors of the Slovenian national BIM association siBIM and a member of the technical committee of SIST/TC – BIM Information Modeling of Constructions of the Slovenian Institute for Standardization SIST. He is the co-author of the “Action plan for the introduction of digitization in the field of the built environment in the Republic of Slovenia” and the reviewer of the “Manual for the preparation of the project assignment for the implementation of the BIM approach for construction” published by IZS.

mag. JURGELE Mitja, DRI (SLO)

Mitja Jurgele completed his undergraduate and master studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy of the University of Ljubljana. He has been employed as Professional Consultant at DRI Investment Management ltd. since 2010. His main activities are development of Infrastructure management tools, organisation and monitoring of quality control programs for infrastructure investments and pavement design and monitoring. He is a co-author of the book Asphalt2.

dr. KARCHER Carsten, EAPA (B)

Graduated from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany the former University of Karlsruhe as a civil engineer. In 2004 he got his Doctors Degree at the same university. From 1999 on he was research assistant, head of the Testing Centre according to German guidelines and at the end head of the department “Highway Construction Technology” at KIT. He has a strong bonding to asphalt material and a founded understanding of its technical, environmental and social issues. As head of the department he acquired and conducted research projects mainly in the field of asphalt pavements. Carsten Karcher started on 1 July 2013 as the Director of EAPA and dealt with Health, Safety and Environmental issues and Political items. On 1 January 2019 Dr. Karcher became Secretary General of EAPA.

dr. KEGLJEVIČ ZAGORC Lidija, DARS (SLO)

Lidija Kegljevič Zagorc obtained her doctorate with a dissertation on sustainable development as a starting point for creating a decision-making model for spatial investments in Slovenia. She obtained her master’s degree in the field of economics and business sciences, and the title of civil engineer at the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Ljubljana.

From January 1, 2023, she is a member of the board of DARS, d. d., responsible primarily for the field of organization of construction and renovations.

Before that, she was employed at DRI investment management, d. o. o. as project manager of the 3rd development axis.

During her career, she managed several construction investments, both private and public, participated in the management of the preparation of national spatial plans, environmental and investment documentation, and was the director of a small design company.

As an expert with many years of experience in the field of construction investments, she is a lecturer in the course Management of infrastructure projects at the Faculty of European Law and a member of the program council of the Academy of Construction Investments, organized within the framework of the Chamber of Commerce of Slovenia, where she lectures in the field of building construction.

Since 2022, she has been a member of the IZS assembly and participates in several IZS working bodies.

On August 24, 2023, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia appointed her as a member of the newly established 14-member reconstruction council after the August floods.

LJUBIČ Aleksander, IGMAT (SLO)

At Igmat d.d. is in charge of managing the asphalt division. He is a member of the ZAS Technical Committee, a member of the Slovenian Chamber of Engineering. He is an auditor for Certification of Production Control (Asphalt, Bitumen and Bitumen Emulsions, Waterproofing Tapes) and a representative of Slovenia in the Technical Committee (TC 4.2 Road Pavements) for the PIARC World Road Organization asphalt pavements from 2008 to 2016. He is the co-author of the book Asphalt and Asphalt2.

MUNARI Piero, Arwin & Partners (IT)

Between 2014 and 2018 he was Head of Investor Relations for the UniCredit Group. Implemented two strategic plans and a €13 billion rights issue. In 2017, ranked third as “Runner Up” in the IRO and, consequently, under his leadership,
UniCredit ranked first as a European IR bank, as well as for Corporate
Governance and Disclosure. While at UniCredit, Piero held a number of important
responsibilities including Global Co-Head of Corporate Finance & Advisory
and Head of Insurance Investment Banking. Between 2003 and 2007, Piero managed the European P&C Run-Off at Swiss Re and was an Executive Member of Staff in the M&A department of Zurich Insurance. Previously, he was Senior Vice President at JPMorgan Chase in European Financial Institutions and, before that, equity research analyst at Deutsche Bank.

dr. PAVŠIČ Primož, ZAG (SLO)

Primož Pavšič received his doctorate in chemical sciences from the University of Ljubljana. He has been working in the field of construction since 1996, when he was employed at the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute and in 2000 took over the management of the Geomechanics Laboratory. From 2008 to 2013, he actively worked in construction operations, mainly in the segment of research and quality control in asphalting, and later also at the ZRMK Building and civil engineering institute. He is currently employed at the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute as a development advisor in the Laboratory for Stone Aggregate and Recycled Materials, where he largely devotes himself to research in the field of recycling, reuse and circular economy within the construction profession.

POERAN Natascha,   Partners in Solutions (NL)

Natascha Poeran, born and raised in The Netherlands, achieved her master’s degree in Road and Railway Engineering at Delft University of Technology. During her study she discovered her fascination for materials, their behavior and the fundamental challenges therein, especially for bitumen and asphalt. After finishing DUT Natascha has started working as a Research Consultant at the R&D department at the Road and Infrastructure division of Royal Boskalis Westminster. There, Natascha was introduced to the practical and more artisanal side of the pavement industry. After 10 years of working in the R&D department in 2023 Natascha, together with business partner Berwich Sluer, founded the consultancy   Partners in Solutions.  In order to further main topics in the industry like End Result Verification, amongst others,  Natascha combines knowledge of both theory and practice to design and optimize research projects, processes and their interrelations. In doing so   works towards a transition in the paving construction industry from implicit craftsmanship to explicit industrialization.

 

POMP Ralf, EAPA (B)

After finishing High School in 1981, Military Service for 18 months, studies for five years at the RWTH Aachen he finished as Civil engineer in 1987.

He had different internships in cement-, concrete- and road paving companies. He grew up in the family business from young years on, so he learned to operate cars, lorries, wheel loaders, mixing plants and repair those. Ralf Pomp entered professionally the Matthias Heyer Asphalt- and Concrete Mixing Group in 1988, first in the building materials laboratory, later in operations management, sales and since 1999 as CEO and shareholder. The Matthias Heyer Group is a family-owned asphalt- and concrete mixing and delivering company operated in the third generation situated in Wegberg in the very West of Germany.

He is a member of the regional board in DAV since 2005 and a Member of the EXCO/ Dir group in EAPA since June 2018. From 2023 he is president of EAPA.

 

dr. POTTI Juan José, ASEFMA (ES)

Juan José Potti has beenTechnicalDirector atEurovia(Spain) from1984 to 2006, Manager of the Eurovia Pôle d’Émulsions since its foundation until 2006 and Project Coordinator for several R&D projects funded by the European Commission.

In April 2006 he became the General Manager of the Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Asphalt Mixtures (Asefma); in March 2012 he was elected President and therefore became the Executive President of Asefma @asefma_es, a position he currently holds.

From 2008 to 2013 he was Project Coordinator of the most important R&D Bituminous Mixtures project founded by the Centre for Technological and Industrial Development (CDTI)(with a budget of more than 28 million euros) entitled Proyecto FENIX,  www.proyectofenix.eu. Currently he is Vice-President of the Spanish Road Association (AEC) @AECarretera, and President of the Spanish Road Technology Platform (PTC) @PTCarretera.

Juan José Potti became a member of the EAPA @eapa_orgExecutive Committee in 2009, he was awarded with the EAPA Asphalt Advocate of the year award in 2018 and was elected Vice-President of EAPA in June 2019. In 2021 he became president of EAPA.

mag. PRETNAR Gregor, PNZ (SLO)

M.Sc. Gregor Pretnar, is employed at the company PNZ svetovanje projektiranije d.o.o., where he performs the role of technical director and head of the traffic engineering and acoustics department. He has more than 20 years of experience in the field of traffic planning, integrated traffic strategies, mobility plans, construction engineering, production of forecast models and traffic simulations, production of traffic safety studies, transport impacts on the environment and production of economic feasibility studies. In the last 10 years, he participated in more than 100 studies in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Australia. He is a licensed civil and traffic engineering engineer.

SLUER Berwich,   Partners in Solutions (NL)

Berwich Sluer, born and raised in Suriname, achieved his master’s degree in Road Construction and Pavement Engineering at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. In his first professional occupational years as a road management consultant he developed a special interest in looking at the challenges in the road paving industry from a broad perspective to achieve progress in the business. For the past 20 years he has set up and managed the R&D departments at the Road and Infrastructure division of Royal Boskalis Westminster and BAM Wegen. In 2023 Berwich, together with business partner Natascha Poeran, founded the consultancy   Partners in Solutions. At   Berwich focuses on main topics in the industry like End Result Verification, reliable service life prediction models for open graded surface layers, full process control of asphalt application, asphalt process automation and pavement data and information management systems. From a holistic point of view all these topics are strongly related and interlinked. By appointing, classifying and optimizing these relations   works towards a transition in the paving construction industry from implicit craftsmanship to explicit industrialization.

TÄUBE André, DAV (D)

 

TISELJ Tone (SLO)

Tone Tiselj is one of the most successful handball coaches in Slovenia. As a selector, he won a silver medal with the men’s national team of Slovenia at the home European championship in 2004. In the same year, he also took them to the Olympic Games in Athens, where Slovenia won 11th place. With both the men’s and women’s national team of Slovenia, he also won 3rd place at the Mediterranean Games.

He was also very successful as a club coach of women’s and men’s teams. In 2001 and 2003, he won the European championship with the Krima Ljubljana handball team, and in 2004, he and the team reached the final of the Champions League and won the European Super Cup.

In 1991, with the handball players of Celje Pivovarna Laško, he made it to the first Yugoslav league, in which they did not participate due to the collapse of the former country, but with the Celje handball players he became the first national and cup champion in independent Slovenia.

In 2000, he also became the Italian national champion with Generali from Trieste.

He was also a successful women’s handball coach abroad and managed teams such as Kolding, Budučnost, Baia Mare and Debrecen. In total, he won around 30 laurels in four different countries.

For many years, Tone Tiselj was a member of the expert council of the Handball Association of Slovenia and a coaching organization and a lecturer at international handball seminars, and he also presented his rich coaching experience to companies and lectured at colleges.

He is the winner of the Bloudk award in 2004 and the recipient of the Leon award from the Delo newspaper for the best coach in the 2001 season. Two of his teams were also winners of the Bloudk award.

He is still in high demand for handball commentary when it comes to the club and national team scene.

In recent years, he has devoted himself recreationally and professionally to cycling: as a great connoisseur and with a network of acquaintances among top cyclists, he has become a desired guest in the media for commenting on cycling events at the highest global level. This is especially true during the Po Slovenija race and the Tour de France race, during which he was also one of the commentators in the Television Slovenia studio.

Today, Tone Tiselj is the sports director of the cycling club of the princely city of Celje, which is becoming more and more recognizable in Slovenia and is reviving the glory of the Celje cycling club Merx, one of the best cycling collectives in Slovenia in the 1980s.

dr. TUŠAR Marjan, ZAG (SLO)

He is currently the head of the Laboratory for Asphalt and Bituminous Products at Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute. In the last period, he has professionally dealt with additives for asphalts (PMMA, with the commercial name Kerock, as an additive to asphalt and bitumen, Pyrolytic product from waste rubber as an additive for rejuvenating the milling cutter, the influence of low-temperature additives on the properties of bitumen and asphalt mixtures and waste polyethylene as additive to bitumen and asphalt.He also devoted himself to the research of laboratory thickening of asphalt mixtures.

He participated as a mentor in the doctoral studies of Dejan Hribar and Lidija Avsenik and as a co-mentor in the doctoral studies of Nataša Zavrtanik at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Ljubljana. At the same time, he participated as a mentor in two master’s degrees and co-mentor in two diplomas. It is a member of CEN TC 227 WP 1 (Investigations and certification of conformity of asphalt mixtures). In total, he co-authored 43 articles with IF (Impact Factor), of which more than half are in the field of asphalts and bitumens.

 

ZORE Damijan, IGMAT (SLO)

Damijan Zore graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy in 2001. He has been employed at the Igmat Institute for 16 years as the head of the asphalt laboratory. He has been dealing with cold recycling or BSM technology for 11 years. He was actively involved in the preparation of technical specifications on BSM. In 2021, he was awarded two certificates on BSM technology.

Dr. HRIBAR Dejan, STRABAG (SLO)

In 2014, at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Ljubljana, he defended his doctoral dissertation, the program Built Environment, scientific field of Civil Engineering. He is employed by STRABAG d.o.o., Ljubljana, TPA service department, as the Technical Head of the Quality Assurance and Innovation Department. In addition to studying materials and technologies, he is also involved in research and sizing of pavement structures. He is an active member of the technical committee of ZAS and the council of experts of the Concrete Association of Slovenia (ZBS).

Dr.-Ing. JOHANNSEN Knut, Eurovia (D)

Since 2011 he is a head of department, authorized signatory at EUROVIA Services GmbH and managing director of Accredited laboratory »MPV«. He is a member of German road and transport research department, German Asphalt Association, German Asphalt Institute. In EAPA his function is head of Technical Committee and member of Health-Safety-Enviroment Comittee.

ZORE Damijan, IGMAT (SLO)

His first job was in 1991 at SCT d.d. as a machinist of construction machinery for the laying of asphalt mixtures. In 1994,  he finished his work as a mechanical technician and became the head of the asphalt group. After a few years, he enrolled in part-time studies and in 2001 graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy. In Igmat, he has have been working in the asphalt department for 14 years. He is the head of the laboratory and has been recycling with foamed bitumen for 10 years.

MATUL Nika, Sloman (SLO)

She studied at the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering in Ljubljana and finished the programme of Water Management and Communal Engineering. She is employed by the company Sloman, on the field of consulting engineering.

She works in the field of civil engineering design and supervision and participates in the preparation of expert opinions and professional studies. She is a member of the ASFALT 4.0 Expert Committee, within which she is committed to the development and progress of the asphalt industry.

mag. ROŠER Rok, Kolektor CPG (SLO)

Rok Rošer studied at the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering in Ljubljana and finished in 2020 master’s degree programme of civil engineering.  He is employed at construction company Kolektor CPG d.o.o.,in the field of asphalt. He is a member of the ZAS and  also a member of the ASFALT 4.0 Expert Committee, which is taking part in activities towards the development of asphalt. 

ŠMUC Sonja, Slovenian Business Club (SLO)

Sonja Šmuc is an excellent connoisseur of the economic and business environment. She started her career in publishing as a business journalist and editor, for 12 years she led the Manager Association, and for more than 3 years she was the  general director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia. This year she was appointed executive director of the Slovenian Business Club – the Club of Slovenian Entrepreneurs.

As a member, she has served in various domestic and international expert committees, such as the Advisory Committee for Equal Opportunities at the European Commission, the BAMC Accreditation Commission, the Strategic Competitiveness Council at the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, the Summit100 Board of Directors. digitization, etc.

She holds a master’s degree in entrepreneurship from the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana, a training course at Standford in the USA and the Wirtschaftsuniversitaet in Vienna, as well as at IEDC Bled.

Dr. TUŠAR Marjan, Kemijski inštitut (SLO)

Recently, he has been professionally involved in asphalt additives (PMMA, under the trade name Kerrock, as an additive to asphalt and bitumen, Pyrolytic product from waste rubber as a rejuvenating additive to asphalt granulate and Influence of low temperature additives on the properties of bitumen and asphalt mixtures. He also devoted himself to researching the laboratory compaction of asphalt mixtures and, more recently, to researching the preparation of asphalt pre-compositions. He is a member of CEN TC 227 WP 1 and RILEM (International Union of Laboratories and Experts in Construction Materials, Systems and Structures). Within the Technical Committee 279-WMR he leads TG1 (Asphalt Binder Additives). He is also an expert auditor for SA (Slovenian Accreditation) and for HAA (Croatian Accreditation Agency). He has co-authored around 30 articles with IF (Impact Factor), of which more than half are in the field of asphalt and bitumen.

CUDERMAN Luka, GGD (SLO)

Employed in Gorenjska gradbena družba as head of the department of development and quality, where he has been responsible for ongoing control of production facilities and internal quality control on construction sites for 20 years. He is also a member of the ZAS Education section.

 

 

mag. RAVNIKAR TURK Mojca, ZAG (SLO)

Is the head of the Laboratory for Asphalts and Bitumen Products at ZAG Ljubljana, which is a public institution that performs public service in the field of scientific research and development activities. The experts of the laboratory cooperate a lot with the asphalt industry in Slovenia and perform quality control for demanding road construction facilities. Mojca Ravnikar Turk completed her civil engineering studies in 1988 at the University of Ljubljana at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, and her master’s degree in 2016 at the same faculty. He has been working in the field of geotechnics and road construction for more than 30 years and has experience in various fields; design of protection of burials and high embankments, technical observation of water barriers, construction of roads and waterproofing of concrete bridges. She is the president of the Slovenian Geotechnical Association (SloGeD) in the period 2016-2021 and a member of the board of directors of the main section of civil engineers at IZS in the period 2017-2021. In addition, she is a member of the Technical Committee for Moisture (SIST / TC VLA) and the head of the Watherproofing section  at ZAS. 

 

 

BOHUŠ Stepan, Saint Gobain (CZ)

Business Manager at Saint-Gobain Adfors, leading worldwide producer of technical textile. As reinforcement meshes, grids, vlieses for various construction sectors. Currently responsible for geotextile business with focus on infrastructure applications. Its strategy, sales and technical support activity’s in EMEA markets. Has background of working in academia R&D, commercial sector customers technical support and business development.

In technical know-how focusing on technologies for construction life expansion as geosynthetics, waterproofing systems for buildings, construction insulation and material testing. Inventor of various technical solutions for the building and road construction sector. In time active in several European and country level associations for development of new geotextile technical standards as EN, ISO, IGS.

Dr. BUTZ Thorsten, SASOL (D)
