BASTIEN, Guillaume

Has a engineer degree from l’Ecole des Mines de Douai – Civil Engineering Dept. He started his career in 1998 at COLAS Gabon. Since then he has been working at COLAS Group. Since 2013 he is a Commercial and Business Development Director at Colas Central Europe in charge of creating and managing a commercial network and developing the customers portfolio (new segments and new customers) for the area for both projects and industrial activities (production & sales of construction products). He is in charge of specific projects, technological transfer businesses and road products development.

BAŠELJ, Roman

is a construction engineer. From 1994 to 2000, he was employed in a laboratory at the CP Kranj, first as a practitioner and in the end as a laboratory manager. From 2000 till now he is employed in Igmat d.d. He began as a technologist in the asphalt laboratory, continued as Deputy Head of the Asphalt Department. Today he is the head of IGM. During all this period, he participated in various projects for DARS, DRSI and others in Slovenia as well as abroad. He is an active member of ZAS, in the Waterproofing Section and SIST.

BEUVING, Egbert

received his Master of Science degree at the Technical University of Delft¬ (in the Netherlands) in Pavement engineering. After getting his degree, we worked during 10 years as Technical Manager for Netherlands Pavement Consultants.
In 1990 he joined CROW, the Dutch Information and Technology Centre for Transport and Infrastructure, as a project manager.
Here he co-ordinated National research activities in the area of road construction, recycling and asphalt pavements.
In 2001 Egbert became the new Technical Director of European Asphalt Pavement Association (EAPA). Here he was the focal point for EAPA on technical issues. In 2009, he became the Director of European Asphalt Pavement Association (EAPA) and since 2013 he is the Secretary General of EAPA. He has been involved in the organisation of many conferences, including 4 Eurasphalt & Eurobitume Congresses. Next to that he is member of several European Standardization (CEN) Committees and other international committees.

BLAB, Roman

In 1990, he graduated and in 1995 he received his Ph.D. from Building Sciences at the Technical University of Vienna. After 1999, he completed post-doctoral studies at the University of California, Berkeley. After returning, he was head of the Institute for Road Construction and Maintenance for 8 years at TU Vienna, and for 5 years the Director of the Institute for Transport. Since October 2015 he has been a Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Vienna. He is the author and co-author of 13 books and more than 300 expert reports, presentations, professional articles and has obtained 4 patents. He is a member of numerous Austrian and international professional associations and committees.

CUKROV, Vesna

Lawyer Vesna Cukrov is the founder of her law firm specialized in the field of investment, public procurement, concession, construction law and real estate law, economic, corporate, competition and financial law, civil law and court litigation, and due diligence. She is a member of the Supervisory Board of the Holding of the Slovenian Electric Power Company, d.o.o. (HSE). Lawyer Vesna Cukrov is also a judicial expert in the field of law and public procurement, entered in the directory of judicial experts of the Ministry of Justice.
Prior to joining the lawyer, she served as chair of the State Audit Commission for the audit of public procurement procedures, to which the National Assembly appointed her in 2008. The function was performed until the end of the mandate.
Prior to that she was working in the national administration and in the industry.

ISAILOVIĆ, Ivan

has a M. Sc. in Civil Engineering from University of Belgrade. He is a research associate at Braunschweig Pavement Engineering Centre in the Department of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences at Technische Universität Braunschweig, Germany. He is author or co-author of 6 research reports, of 7 peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals and of 13 articles published in conference proceedings. His publications cover the procedures for better addressing of the mechanical properties of asphalt materials, especially long-term fatigue and recovery properties, the composition of asphalt mixtures considering various additives, re-using reclaimed asphalt, and slag materials. He is a member of the German Road and Transportation Research Association (FGSV).

JANJIĆ, Veljko

got his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Starting several IT companies as well as working on several IT projects for the government, he gained significant experience in project management, organization and IT skills. He went on to found BEXEL Consulting in 2005, motivated by the high cost overruns, missed schedule deadlines and inadequate quality of construction projects. He believed this could be overcome by developing comprehensive BIM processes and highly advanced and specialized software solutions for their implementation.Veljko holds the position of CEO, managing company strategy, key projects BEXEL has been involved with, as well as development of state-of-the-art in-house software solutions for BIM analyses, including 4D and 5D construction scheduling and 6D Facility Maintenance.He has been a guest lecturer on various conferences and universities. Also, he holds a seat on the Executive Committee of BIM Slovenia, a non-profit organization for promoting, coordinating and implementing BIM on government and other projects in Slovenia. He is a member of Technical Advisory Committee of Stanford University’s prestigious CIFE center, FIDIC/EFCA BIM Task Force Group and BuildingSMART Standards Committee.

JURGELE, Mitja

completed his undergraduate and master studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy of the University of Ljubljana. He has been employed as Professional Consultant at DRI Investment Management ltd. since 2010. His main activities are development of Infrastructure management tools, organisation and monitoring of quality control programs for infrastructure investments and pavement design and monitoring. He is a co-author of the book Asphalt2.

LITZKA, Johan

has studied at the Vienna University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences completed and completed with doctoral thesis in the field of road design.
In forty years of experiance he has gained a lot of knowledge in road design and road construction and also pavement design and road maintenance. He has more than 230 publications and more than 190 lectures in these fields. He was a consultant for the road administration and private motorway companies with respect to pavement design and pavement maintenance. He has gained numerous expertises in the field of road materials, analysis of deterioration, and other. He was also involved in extensive research activities under the Austrian Road Research Fund and the EU-contracts.
Since 2009, he works as a professor emeritus for Road Construction and Maintainance at the Vienna Technical University.

LJUBIČ, Aleksander

In 1993 he graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Ljubljana. In IGMAT d.d. he is in charge of managing the Asphalt Department, the Asphalt Laboratory and Certification of Asphalt Production Control. He works in the technical group for the preparation and translation of Slovenian standards (SIST). He is a member of the Technical Committee of the World Road Organization PIARC, a member of the Chamber of Engineers and the Auditor for Production Control Certification (Asphalt, Bitumen and Bitumen Emulsions). He is co-author of the book Asphalt, Asphalt2 and Asphalt3.

KOHL, Armin

has studied civil engineering at the university of applied sciences Karlsruhe
and has graduated in 1981 with the title of Dipl.-Ing. (FH). The main focus of his studies
was the economical aspect of the realization of construction works.
In 1981, Armin Kohl started his work at Deutsche Asphalt GmbH Munich. He was working
for 20 years on the fields of asphalt, bituminous water-protecting systems for bridges
and on the subject of cement-concrete industrial floors. He was responsible for projects
from the consulting up to the implementation.
From 2002 until today, Mr. Kohl is working for J. Rettenmaier & Söhne GmbH + Co.
KG, a company specialized in the production of cellulose fibers. He is working as a
project manager in the business unit Road Construction and responsible for the innovative
applications noise reducing SMA and SMA binder course. He is in close contact
with authorities, with organizations like EAPA (European Asphalt Pavement Association),
DAV (German Asphalt Association), FGSV (Road and Transportation Research
Association), laboratories and customers.

KOKOT, Darko

He completed his undergraduate and master studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy of the University of Ljubljana. Since 2000, he has been employed as a researcher at the Institute for Construction (ZAG), where he devotes most of his time to the characteristics of driving surfaces: frictional abilities, rough roughness, (in) flatness, load capacity, environmental impact and traffic management. During his work, he participated in numerous international projects, co-financed by funds from several Frame Programs, Horizon 2020, CEDR and COST. At the same time, it also operates in the technical committees of the PIARC World Road Association and the CEN standardization body.

RAVNIKAR TURK, Mojca

finished the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering in Ljubljana. Since 1988 she has worked at the Institute for Research in Materials and Structures, and later at ZAG Ljubljana. Currently holds the position of head of the “Laboratory for asphalt and bitumen products”. Her main areas of work, in addition to management and research work also include implementation of monitoring and analyzing the behavior of complex geotechnical structures and quality control of asphalt and earthworks.
Among the international projects she participated in COST Actions 345 and 348, between 2006 and 2009 she coordinated research project 6th FP SPENS (Sustainable Pavements for European New member States). She is participating or has led working groups in international projects STARs, BRoWSER, ASCAM and CONSISTEND.
For the period between 2013 and 2016, she is employed as the main secretary ‘Slovenian Geotechnical Society’ (SloGeD).
Since April 2009 she works as the Vice-President of ‘Slovenian National Committee on Large Dams’ (SloCOLD).

SÖRENSEN, Anja

finished her studies with PhD thesis titled Determination of Viscosity of Asphalt under Tensile Stress based on Retardation Tests in 2000 at the Institute for Road Engineering of TU Braunschweig. Her career started at Emsland Refinery as Technical Support Manager and Management of the Bitumen and Asphalt Laboratory.
Since 2002 she is employed by Arbit e.V. where she became a Director General in 2007. Since June 2015 she also works as a Director of Eurobitume Germany.
Since 1996 she has been Involved in various working groups of Bitumen Industry, German Road Research and since 2002 is a member of CEN TC 336 and WG1.

SPIEGL, Markus

is Product Manager for Black Products Europe at OMV, an international oil and gas company with its head quarter in Vienna, Austria. Markus is in the bitumen and asphalt mix industry since more than 15 years and has experience in various fields of this industry. He started his career at OMV as a Business Development Manager for Bitumen in 2007 and since 2014 he is heading the Black Products Department of OMV. He is a member of the board of directors of Eurobitume and board member of GESTRATA, the Austrian association for bitumen and asphalt road construction. Besides this Markus is the chairman of the Austrian mirror group for bitumen standardization and he is representing Austria in this respect on CEN level. Before his career at OMV he did his PhD in Civil Engineering at the University of Technology in Vienna.

ŠMUC, Sonja

Mag. Sonja Šmuc has been the general director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, the largest economic organization in Slovenia since this year. Before that she was the head of the Association of Managers of Slovenia for 12 years. With her work, she actively supports the development of management and leadership in Slovenia and beyond. She is devoted to many aspects of the competitiveness of the economy, the labour market, the tax system and business ethics. She is a specialist in women’s management. She works in many domestic and international bodies, such as for example, the Samit100 business leaders of SE Europe, the DUTB Accreditation Commission, the working group for the preparation of the Strategy of Business Excellence of the Republic of Slovenia, the Advisory Committee on Equal Opportunities for Men and Women at the European Commission and others. She is a sonar of GZS OE Ljubljana for innovation. Entrepreneurs in the company and author of over 700 economic articles. She obtained her master’s degree at the EF in Ljubljana, and she was additionally trained at the universities in Austria and the USA.

TUŠAR, Marjan

In the Laboratory for Asphalt and Bitumen Waterproofing Materials he participated in the planning and systematic planning of demanding developmental research projects. He also participated in standardized laboratory tests of asphalt, bitumen and bituminous products and performed external control of these materials and their installation in the framework of the motorway construction program in the Republic of Slovenia. He participated in the preparation of demanding professional tasks and expert opinions, evaluated the experiments and measurements, carried out measurements and issued expert opinions on the ground (waterproofing and asphalt). He is responsible for establishing and maintaining a quality system in the laboratory according to SIST EN ISO 17025. He is a member of WP 1 (testing and attestation of conformity of asphalt mixtures).

VERSTEEG, Harald

Graduated with a degree in Geology/ geochemistry from Utrecht University. After working as a specialist on building materials. His main experience with procurement dates from the time he was responsible for the dredging projects on the North Sea and coastal maintenance. 2010 to 2015 he was the program manager of the Rijkswaterstaat sustainability program. Using the procurement process to stimulate the suppliers to develop more sustainable products and services was one of the topics he worked on. Harald played a role in the introduction of the CO2 performance ladder as a part of the sustainable procurement strategy of Rijkswaterstaat. He still represents Rijkswaterstaat in the Central College of Experts (CCvD) for this certification scheme.

WENINGER – VYCUDIL, Alfred

Dr. Alfred Weninger – Vycudil is Technical Director of Deighton Europe / PMS-Consult (Austria, Vienna) and responsible for the implementation of asset management solutions and the technical consultant in the field of asset management. He studied civil engineering at the Technical University in Vienna and teaches road construction and maintenance at the University of Applied Science Campus Wien. He is Austrian delegate in the Technical Committee “Asset Management “of PIARC (World Road Association).

WISTUBA P., Michael

Michael P. Wistuba, Full-Professor for Road Engineering, has a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Vienna University of Technology. He is head of Braunschweig Pavement Engineering Centre in the Department of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences at Technische Universität Braunschweig, Germany. He is author or co-author of 54 research reports, of 43 peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals and of 104 articles published in conference proceedings. His publications cover the fundamental mechanisms that control behaviour and durability of asphalt materials and pavement systems, the technical testing to address performance properties, the composition of asphalt mixtures considering various additives and re-using reclaimed asphalt, the design of highway and airport pavements, and the development of road management concepts to achieve durability.

ŽIBERNA, Simon

After graduating from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy of the University of Ljubljana in 1999, he started working at the ZAG, where he first met with the quality control of the performance of earthwork and unbound layers and participated in the construction of numerous highway sections. He has been working in quality control in the construction of highways for more than 15 years.
He met with pavement constructions, as a designer of the plans for the dimensioning of pavement structures of roads of different grades, in 2007 and is still working as a designer in this field.
During this period he participated as an author or co-author in several Road and traffic congresses, Municipal Roads Days and events of ZAS. He is also a member of several professional institutions and societies (IZS, ZAS, SloGed, SloCold).
